Flash Drives
Flash drives are used to store files. Many times flash drives are used to move data from one computer to another. This is what we will practice today.
1. Find a partner to work with.
2. Look at the end of the flash drive and the slot on the computer to insert the flash drive into.
3. Slide the flash drive into the slot and notice the message that pops up.
4. Open up MicroSoft Word and type a simple sentence about testing flash drives.
5. Press the save button, drop down the 'save in' choices, click on removable disk.
6. Change the file name to something with the names of you and your partner (example Mia and Chloe flash drive test)
7. Do not press the save button yet; let Mr. Thelen check out you save setup.
8. Press save, exit out of your document, click on the green arrow, and safely remove the flash drive.
9. Take the flash drive to your partner's computer and slide it in the slot.
10. Double click on My Documents, drop down the address option, choose the removable disk.
11. Find your document, single click on it, then let Mr. Thelen check that you found your file.
12. Safely remove the flash drive, put it in the pouch, lay it in the designated area.
